Sony is supporting the UK’s leading alternative content specialist More2Screen to bring the Mariinsky Theatre’s production of Christmas favourite ‘The Nutcracker’ to cinemas in 3D.
For the first time ever, cinema audience can enjoy the world’s favourite ballet in stunning 3D this Christmas. Sony Digital Cinema is supporting leading alternative content specialist More2Screen to distribute the Mariinsky Theatre’s The Nutcracker In 3D to digital cinemas across Europe and worldwide.
Filmed at the historic Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, this sumptuous production is brought to life on the big screen in stunning 3D – a perfect cinematic treat for the festive season.
This latest creative partnership with More2Screen underlines the commitment of Sony Digital Cinema to bring compelling alternative content to cinema exhibitors and their audiences.

Sony Digital Cinema has already collaborated with More2Screen on other acclaimed content projects. “Hungarian Rhapsody: Queen Live in Budapest ’86” captures the rock band at its explosive peak in an unforgettable performance for 80,000 fans. Another joint project from earlier this year was a brilliant New York stage production of Stephen Sondheim's “Company” which was enjoyed by cinema audiences in over 15 territories worldwide.
